Szymon runs his own business activity – Syp Szymon Doradztwo prawne (legal services) and cooperates as a lawyer (Of Counsel) with Polish law firms  where he deals with corporate law, M&As and competition law issues. Szymon worked for a few years at Polish and international law firms based in Warsaw (Poland)

His major fields of specialization are corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, capital and financial structures, restructuring projects, finance and competition law. He participated in numerous high-profile projects involving inter alia: IPO of a middle-sized company (service industry), reverse IPO of a company (construction market), downstream merger among the companies belonging to the same capital group (real estate), merger notifications (8 clearances), transborder merger of the companies (Cyprus and Poland); participation in the establishment of VC/PE fund (preparation of corporate documents and clearance from the National Competition Authority received);  advisory on the Chinese construction machinery manufacturer in acquisitions of Polish company (comprehensive legal documentation, notification requirements – competition law, acquisition of Real Estate by foreigner); corporate and tax optimization of a family business (Real Estate, shares in different companies), advisory before the National Competition Authority concerning the resale price maintenance agreement (hub and spoke cartel like case) in the TV industry.

He is also involved in the project regarding the Unfair Competition Act in the USA as an independent expert (more at: www.eksportujlegalnie.pl).

Szymon is also known for his academia research  (economics and law) whose, academic interests include: competition law, economics of merger control, convertible bonds, capital markets, egulated industries (banking, M&A in bankign industry), securities regulation. He graduated from the University of Warsaw School of Law (law) and is a Ph.D. candidate (economics) at the Department of International Law, Warsaw School of Economics, Ph.D. candidate (law) at the University of Warsaw School of Law. Szymon  studied and was a scholar at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, University of Indiana Maurer School of Law (2009 and 2010/2011 scholarship for Master of Laws Thesis Program – LL.M.T) and Columbia Law School Summer Program (2009). He also graduated from the Center For American Law Studies, joint course organized by the University of Warsaw School of Law and Levin College of Law, University of Florida.

Szymon is a member of, inter alia, ”Centre C-Law.org”, Polish Competition Law Association, Polish Association of Economic Analysis of Law and Permanent Cooperator at the Centre of Antimonopoly and Regulatory Studies, Asian Competition Forum, Polish Arbitration Association.

Speaker at national and  international conferences (Toronto, 2009 – Mergers and Acquisitions in banking sector , Hong Kong, 2011 – Competition law developments in Poland after 20 years, Cracow, 2012, Contingent capital – a selection of views).

Szymon is a blogger at Antitrust in Poland  – a blog that covers wide range of issues connected with antitrust policy, competition, law & economics viewed from a Polish perspective. He is also a founder of The Corpo News (Polish: Korporacyjnie.pl) – a blog that covers wide range of issues related to corporate, M&As, capital market in Poland and founder of  The Law and Medicine – a blog that deals with law and medicine in Poland. Szymon also cooperates as an expert with Gazeta Finansowa (Financial Gazette), weekly published in Poland.
