Aleksandra Krawcewicz is currently working at Berwin Leighton Paisner, an international law firm in London. She is an associate in Banking and Capital Markets department, focusing on structure finance.

Aleksandra has an expertise in the capital markets area, specifically derivatives and structured finance.

Aleksandra previously worked for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development  as an associate in the finance team of the Office of the General Counsel. She was responsible for preparing medium-term note issuances for the Bank acting as an issuer, and she also prepared and negotiated the correlated swap confirmations, as part of the Bank’s hedging strategy. Aleksandra was also involved with the Bank’s projects to address the liquidity problems faced by various banks from the Eastern and Central Europe. 

Aleksandra has also gained previous experience in the capital markets area by working for Allen & Overy in Warsaw, in the International Capital Markets team. While at Allen & Overy, Aleksandra advised a main Polish refinery on its hedging strategy, as well as on the on-going negotiations and drafting of the ISDA Agreements (including Credit Support Annexes). Aleksandra has also assisted syndicates of Polish banks in negotiating and preparing the bond issuance documents (medium term notes issued by various commercial Polish banks and municipal notes issued by the City of Warsaw).

Aleksandra has received an LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law, where she worked as a research assistant of Professor Stephen Choi, specializing in the securities law area. She has also graduated from the University of Warsaw School of Law, with honors. While at the University of Warsaw Aleksandra was an active member of the European Law Students Association (ELSA), where she also held a position of the President of Warsaw local group.

Aleksandra is an attorney-at-law in the state of New York. She has also recently passed the Qualified Lawyers’ Transfer Scheme assessments and will shortly become qualified as an English solicitor. 

Aleksandra is a member of the New York State Bar Association. She is also involved with providing pro bono legal work for a start-up business in fashion industry.
